With so many alternative Halloween events nowadays, you may find that trick-or-treating in your neighborhood can be hit or miss. Many families go out for an event or activity, so you and your kids may trudge around the neighborhood and have very few houses to visit for candy. You can easily solve that problem by heading out to the Midland Recyclers Trunk or Treat. Not only are you assured that your kids won't have any trouble receiving treats, you'll also get to see decorated stations and let them play games, have fun in a bounce house, and more.

Wear a costume and join in the fun at the Midland Center for the Arts Halloween Bash, where they'll have early trick or treating outside. They'll also have spooky science demonstrations and hands-on activities. And if you'd like some at-home activities to try in the week leading up to Halloween, check out the Center's social media accounts for suggestions. Before or after you enjoy the fun outside, head inside the museum to check out its exhibits and a special event featuring bone cleaning. Tickets (which include museum admission) are $7 for general admission and free for museum members and ages 3 and under. Choose a time slot when you pre-register, which is required.

Thursday, October 27, 2022, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
If you're 18 or over, head to the Roll Arena for an early Halloween Dance where you can wear a costume if you'd like to. Skating won't be available in order to accommodate the dance, but games will be available to play for 25 cents, and cookies and drinks are provided. Admission to the dance is $7.
- Boo Bash - several streets in downtown Midland, MI
Friday, October 28, 2022 6 p.m.-11:59 p.m.
Boo Bash takes over downtown Midland with fun activities for everyone, starting with a family-friendly event from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Let kids trick or treat at downtown businesses, play outdoor games and activities, enjoy a DJ costume party, and more. During the same time period, a disability-friendly trick-or-treat option will be held a block away from Main St. at 233 E. Larkin St. From 9 a.m.-midnight, the fun is for adults, with costumes encouraged at a Grave Rave with DJs. Food and beverages will be available to purchase, and you could win prizes during the costume contest.
- Grandma's Pumpkin Patch - 4277 N. Eastman Rd., Midland, MI 48642
through October 31, 2002
Stop by Grandma's Pumpkin Patch for fun activities like a corn maze, hay rides, farm animals, and a cow train. Activities vary by day, so check Grandma's website to see what's available before you visit. Special events will also be held, including a show with older vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, and tractors from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.
