April 10th is recognized as Golfer's Day, so whether you're a newbie or a seasoned golfer, head out to one of Midland's beautiful courses to play a round. The area has a good mix of public and private courses so you're free to join a country club if you'd like or simply try some of the area's public fairways.
Our REALTORS® recommend visiting the following local courses and country clubs to refine your golf game:
- Currie Golf Courses - 1300 Currie Pkwy., Midland, MI 48640
You'll have your choice of three courses at Currie Golf Courses. The 18-hole Currie West features a modern design that's been carved out of the naturally wooded landscape. Since it has five tee boxes, you'll enjoy the course whether you're a casual or experienced golfer. Currie East is a 9-hole course that also accommodates all levels of golfers with its 3 tee boxes. If you're getting started at golf or want to improve your short game, spend some time at the Currie Par 3 Course, which has a driving range, practice bunker, and practice putting green. And if you don't have your own clubs yet, you can borrow some of Currie's with a paid game of golf.
- Midland Country Club - 1120 W. St. Andrews Rd., Midland, MI 48640
Since 1928, Midland Country Club, located in the town's center, has provided its members with a beautiful course, clubhouse, and other amenities. Today's clubhouse and golf course opened in 2010, continues the country club's tradition of excellence and hosts the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, an LPGA Tour event. If you'd like to practice, the Short Game Practice area has been completely renovated to include green for 60-70 yard pitch shots and another for chipping and bunker shots. If you'd like to work on your long game, you'll also find netted outdoor hitting bays at the country club.
