Chippewa Nature Center was founded by the Midland Nature Club in 1966 and has only grown in the decades since. From its humble beginnings as a 198-acre parcel of land along the Chippewa River, the Nature Center has expanded to include 1,348 acres of forests, rivers, and wetlands. It's one of the greatest destinations in the Midland area for hiking, bird watching, and a host of other outdoorsy pursuits.
