Calm, dedication, and determination all describe Rich Purvis. Rich brings a unique combination of skills to his real estate clients. Competitive by nature, Rich skated as part of a national hockey championship team at the ripe age of 16 in his home town of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He continued to skate until about 3 years ago, and twice played against the Red Wing Alumni. Needless to say, Rich is a Red Wing fan! That drive to succeed lead to his career as a fireman for the city of Midland. Rich served as a fireman for 25 years and demonstrated that calm and determination in sometimes trying situations! Always looking for further challenge, Rich began his real estate career in 1990. He retired from the fire department and began his full time real estate profession in 1998 with Remax of Midland where he quickly became a member of the “Hall of Fame”. That competitive spirit again surfaced as Rich furthered his career with professional mentoring by Dirk Zeller, a nationally recognized real estate coach. Rich’s success was even noted in Dirk’s book, “Your first year in Real Estate.”! Rich also decided to complete his college degree and in 2003 earned a BA, Suma Cum Laude from Northwood University in Business management. He holds a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), designation held by approximately 5% of all agents across the country and recognizing his advanced real estate skills and training. Rich joined Ayre/Rhinehart in 2009, believing that the team spirit and high standards within Ayre/Rhinehart were a good match for his business goals and his clients. Real estate allows Rich to utilize many of his skills. He has worked as a finish carpenter while pursuing his fireman career. His calm under pressure and deliberative approach enables buyers and sellers to evaluate options that best meet their needs.
